Unfortunate- ly, they made claims that were unfounded in science and even specifically called out brands of pet food and types of proteins, without scientific data to support such claims. The FDA added there are some reported DCM cases in pets who are fed a diet including grains, but this was a less sensational statement. The battle of misinformation versus research soon began in earnest. Were grain-free foods harming our four-legged family members? The topic is now keenly followed by those in the pet industry who are interested in nutrition. Your HYPE OR FACT?
