Soon, Charlestonians will have the chance to watch locals compete on a new reality show that raises money for animal shelters in the Lowcountry. Joe Gallagher Jr., CEO of Charleston-based recording company Atlas Star Records, had an idea for a reality show that would feature local musicians and have them compete for a cash prize and a recording contract. But the show would have an additional connection to animal rescues in the Charleston area. “My wife and I have rescued over 30 dogs,” said Gal- lagher, “and we wanted to do something to support local rescues.
